(AP) ? The daughter of one of four homeless men murdered in Southern California says the killer stabbed each victim more than 40 times.

Tuesday's Orange County Register newspaper reports that Julia Smit-Lozano says prosecutors told her that her father was stabbed more than 50 times.

The district attorney's office is holding a news conference Tuesday morning and is expected to announce whether charges are being filed against U.S. Marine veteran Itzcoatl Ocampo.

The 23-year-old Ocampo was arrested Friday. His father, who is homeless, said his son came back from Iraq a changed man.

The killings began in December and led police to go on nightly patrols to urge homeless people to sleep in groups or seek shelter.
